This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a high-priority school where 98% of students come from shelters, foster-care system, and low-income families. On most days, the children come to school in dirty clothes with holes and are usually a size or two too small. They cannot button their pants, or their bellies are showing. Some don't have socks and/or underwear. And with the winter months upon us, some do not have warm jackets.

I have seen the huge smiles on their faces when they receive new clothes or shoes.

They feel good about themselves and makes them not want to hide. When I student feels good about themself, they have the confidence to do better and want to learn. Please help my kiddos in feeling good about themselves.
