Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyone has a story to tell, and my class tells a unique one. My students come from diverse and difficult backgrounds that can sometimes make it very hard to come to school and learn. The daily dedication of my students continues to blow me away. Each student that comes into my classroom becomes part of a family. As a family, we develop a bond that lasts far beyond the school year. We operate as a family and treat one another like family. If someone falls down, we gather around to lift them up.

My students are a group of children with an unquenchable thirst to learn.

Every student counts and every moment matters. It is our mission to ensure that not a moment is wasted. We are the Lions! Hear us roar!

My Project

We need new rugs for our classroom reading nook area. Rugs are expensive and our school simply does not have the funds to purchase them. As you can imagine after several years of use and trading around between teachers they get very yucky (even after many cleanings!). New rugs can make the kids feel special and give them a nice, clean place to come together for partner reading.

New rugs will make my students feel at home and welcomed in my classroom.

Second graders love carpet time and these new rugs will make that time even more exciting and special!
