Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students arrive at school ready and eager to explore the world around them through books. My students come from a low poverty community.
Our school offers free breakfast and lunch to all of our students.
They have experiences and have learned lessons in life that many of the adults I know have never experienced.
Our classroom is their "safe" place where they come to learn. Our school is also very limited in the supplies and curriculum resources they can provide for our classroom. That is the reason I seek out and provide as many of the resources I can for my students.
The look on their faces when they learn something new or they can see beyond the four invisible walls set up around the neighborhood is priceless!
My Project
Attending this conference will allow me to grow my creativity as a classroom teacher! What better conference than one that allows you to witness and learn from very creative teachers as they teach in their own classrooms!

Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives." (Robert John Meehan) I will have the opportunity to learn from known teachers as they teach in their own classrooms.
I have followed their blogs and social media to help me with the lessons in my classroom. I would also have the opportunity to witness Ron Clark himself teach lessons and learn from him. This conference includes several sessions in both science and math. These session will allow me to bring a more creative experience to my classroom and my students. I am ready to attend these sessions, grow as an educator, and bring more creative and rigorous lessons to my classroom.
