We are a school of approximately 500 students (Kindergarten-5th Grade). These students come to school eager to learn and they are hard workers. The students are full of optimistic energy each and every day. We are a family within our little school environment. We strive to build caring, personal connections with each child that walks through our doors. Learning, growing, and healthy, positive relationships all happen at our school!
While they come from all walks of life, the students have one simple thing in common-they love to play!
My Project
At an elementary level, peer play is a crucial component of the learning process. Studies show that being physically active is good for brain development and academic performance. When students are given access to play on safe playground equipment during recess, it helps to improve academic and on-task behaviors in the classroom. Physical play helps to develop fine and gross motor skills. It also encourages children to problem solve in a social setting. Research has also shown that when participating in physical play, students develop a better outlook about school.

Your contribution will help purchase a new piece of playground equipment, which is in need of updating. The Spinami Play Motion Event will be a welcome addition to our playground. Our mission is to provide a safe, easily accessible, and fun playground for all of the children in our community.
