My Students

After teaching exclusively 8th grade for 20 years, now I have 2 classes of 7th graders as well! This is a very diverse middle school with truly heterogeneous groups with wide ranging ability levels. With military families, there is a constantly changing mix of students.

My Project

New grade level and new novels and an empty toolbox. I need to research and examine available materials so I can select what will be the best fit for my students. There are a wide range of needs and abilities in each class so I need to access the best strategies. This professional development opportunity will allow me the time to examine several selections to pilot multiple resources. Having the time to explore a variety of tested activities instead of creating everything from scratch will be absolutely invaluable and essential.
