My Students

My students love to play games! When school is fun, they don't even realize that they are learning!

My school services a diverse population.

Seventy-seven percent of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Although my students don't always have everything they want, they love school and want so desperately to learn new things. My students are in kindergarten. For many of them, this is their first year in school and their first exposure to learning. This is where they learn to love education.

My Project

With my state's adoption of the Common Core State Standards, there is a greater emphasis on depth of knowledge. My students need common core aligned math centers and games to help them learn math skills. These games and resources will be used during math instruction as well as with volunteers and para-educators to pull small groups of students to help every student achieve grade level expectations.

This project will make a difference to these students because it will provide them with more hands on learning opportunities that are directly aligned to the state standards in a fun and engaging way!
