Help me give my students new materials to finish the second half the year strong! We are seeking new materials to be able to switch out current items in the classroom and continue to explore new things!
My students come to school each day eager to engage with staff, peers, and materials. They have smiles on their faces and their energy is contagious. I am grateful to be in a profession I love, which is due to the students and families I am lucky enough to work with. Students in my class enjoy playing with trains, dolls, toy food, superheros, hungry hippos, and marble mazes. Many students love circle time. We have jobs and on of the favorite jobs at circle time is being the gardener and getting to water our plant, by using a squirt bottle to water a succulent. We also love dancing to music, turn taking games, and reading books. Others love table time, where we work on academics, social skills, fine motor skills, and language development. Some cannot wait to go outside or use our motor room on rainy days. It is so rewarding finding and engaging with students about things they are passionate about. Lastly, my students work very hard on some skills, making it so rewarding to see their achievements.
My Project
We are seeking to get new materials to be able to continue to explore new things and promote further development across all domains. We are hoping to get new sensory items for the class. We have been loving using alphafriends this year to help learn our letters. Many students are identifying most letters so we are looking to further promote academic skills around this. With tracing tiles we can begin to learn how to write letters. We will use the alphabet soup sorter to continue to work on phonological awareness. We will also use alphabet dough stampers in our new sensory dough to further reinforce these concepts.
One of our favorite areas in the classroom is our science area.
We have a great science area set up by a big window. My student's love to explore there. With this project we can add new materials like sensory bottles and new colored window blocks to explore colors and how they change when light shines through.
