Help me give my students hands-on materials such as Magna-Tiles, tempera cakes, write and write mini boards as well as Elephant and Piggie book set for a rich learning community environment!
My school is a charter school in La Mesa, California. It is a small school that focuses on each students' needs, inspiring independent thinkers. This is a new school for me and I am excited to get to know my students.
My kindergarten students will benefit most from an environment that is full of rich learning materials.
My students are special because this is many of their first years in a school setting. Kindergarten students are beginning to understand what school is and are eager to learn, share and grow up together.
My Project
The materials I have selected will make a difference in my students' learning by providing them with more hands-on experiences for literacy centers, art projects, math, and STEM. I am starting in a new classroom this year with limited supplies provided. It is important for my students to have access to engaging supplies and the fun stories of Mo Willems.
I am looking forward to teaching my students how to use tempera cakes to make beautiful paintings, and stack Magnatiles together to make inspiring structures.
I am excited to guide my students through the process of making self-portraits using our skin-colored paints. We will use the math links to count by tens to the 100th day of school. The magnetic boards and alphabet stamps will be used weekly during literacy centers.
The variety of materials I selected are going to come in handy throughout the whole year. During the spring I do a unit of study using Mo Willems books. I would love to have a class set of his stories for my students to be able to hear to read aloud and also practice reading on their own.
