Ms. Veglia from Sarasota FL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a new CD player and MP3 player. The concert venue's that they perform at now require us to download our music digitally for the sound system on site.

We have a need to succeed in the public venue's in our community. We want to be up to date with our digital technology and be able to sing and dance at any location.
While the new tech devises will ultimately be used for every K-5 music class, the 4th and 5th grade chorus will get the most out of it as they tour the different performance venues in our community.
Last year we needed to upload our song list onto a borrowed mp3 player so that we could perform at our County Fair. We should have one for the music classroom so that the songlists for Kindergarten and 5th grade graduation can be portable as well.
My 4th and 5th chorus students love to sing and dance, it is sometimes their motivating factor to come to school. They would not stay after school on a Friday afternoon if they didn't love it! Our group performs outside of school every year and while the venues that we perform at have updated their music technology our school cannot afford to do so. We are a title I school where most of the students in my group, in fact the 95% of the school, are on free and reduced lunch. Digital technology for music is often an afterthought to the other needs of our school.
By donating to our digital updating you would be allowing our students more opportunities to share music with each other and the arts community that we live in.
Our performances outside of school are important to us, we have performed at such venues as our airport, local library, school fundraisers, County Fair and our Youth Arts Festival, just to name a few. We don't want our lack of music technology to slow our performing in any way as we are often invited to return yearly. Please help!
