Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title I school and all of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students come from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and other Caribbean Countries. We have a high percentage of English Language Learners and Special Education students. If you know sports, you know its competitive nature of how important it for students to show their skills.
My students and their parents/guardians would truly appreciate any new academic activity learned to increase their STEAM Skills.
Math is one of the most critical subjects in a student's career - as much as English.
My Project
Remote learning is not easy, especially for students with disabilities. Learning mathematics is by far not an easy task. Many times it is hard to work one-on-one with students because you have to overthink new ideas to get and keep students engaged. There are so many wonderful ideas that teachers around the country are using to get and keep students engaged that their ideas are shared and having access to those resources genuinely helps students now and in the years to come. There are other ways to learn. Giving the students a chance to learn not only from one teacher but thousands, is the opportunity of a lifetime.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Ms. Janessa Tamayo and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
