My students need new headphones in order to better utilize their iPads. The headphones currently in the classroom are beginning to break and the kids complain that they hurt their ears.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are passionate and excited children who have a desire to learn. However, they have many obstacles that stand in their way. Obstacles like hunger, poverty, addiction within the family, incarceration of loved ones, witnessing violence and more.
School is a place where the students can continue to be just kids, be surrounded by peers, and to be challenged academically.
On average, most of my students are below grade level in math, reading and science. Reading is the key to improving all subjects at school and having the access to better reading resources would be a wonderful stepping stone to their reading success.
My Project
Our students use headphones on a daily basis with their iPads. The headphones provided to us by the district are low quality and the kids complain that they are painful on their ears. Not only that, but they are beginning to break.
It is my hope that these headphones would provide more comfort to the students so they can better utilize their time using technology.
They would not have to constantly adjust their headset or have the sound come in and out. We would also have enough to have each student on their iPad at the same time. Plus, what classroom doesn't need a new pencil sharpener? This is essential for the class to function (with or without technology)!
