New Guitar Strings for the District Guitar Program
Help me give my students beautiful new guitar strings. These guitars need some tlc.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade share the same 350 guitars in the Ogden School District. There are typically 40 guitars that are stored at each school during the semester. The strings are very old, breaking and tarnished. They should be replaced at least once a year. The strings are now 6 years old, so we are in desperate need! Every school in our district is a title one school with disadvantaged students. Our school, in particular, is 99.7% free or reduced-rate lunch.
New guitar strings are like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
All students in my classrooms will benefit from having new clean, beautiful sounding, guitar strings. This project will impact at least 2744 students in the district.
My Project
These strings are desperately needed, students can't play the guitar without strings. They should be replaced every year but we are going on 6 years. The strings are old, dull, and some are missing.
Please help brighten the lives of our students and the guitars that they use in the classrooms.
These strings will cover the cost to replace half of what is needed to repair and service the classroom guitars. This is only the beginning. It will take over 100 man-hours to replace them. I will be servicing many of the guitars so that we can get many more years of use out of them. If we can keep up on the servicing we can extend the life of the instrument which will save us from having to buy new instruments.
