My Project

My students are special because they are an ethnically-diverse close-knit community. My students are proud of their Hispanic, Black/African American, Ukrainian, Romanian, and Asian/Pacific Islander languages and heritages.

These graphic novels and necessary library supplies (ergonomic keyboard, teambuilding games, nature study butterflies), will help kids get hooked on reading and make critical thinking connections across disciplines!

Graphic novels fly off the library shelves and make up the top 50 circulating titles. Students beg for more of this genre daily, and all we librarians need to do is set them out to increase reading engagement! Hands on dominoes and butterfly activities will tie in with the STEM graphic novels, bringing scientific inquiry alive, literally!
