Help me give my students new starting blocks and discuses for this season's competitions. From season to season, our equipment goes through normal wear and tear which sometimes makes them unusable when we go to meets and invitationals.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our high school is a selective enrollment math and science academy located in West Inglewood and my students commute from all over the south side to come here.

With the financial status looming in public education, I want to ensure my students know that they are a priority.

My students are sixty-nine percent African American, twenty-six percent Hispanic and most qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. They are hardworking and determined to reach their goals. They challenge themselves and they like to be challenged in every way possible

My Project

Thank you for visiting our page! I am the assistant track and field coach at LMSA in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. My team is in desperate need for new starting blocks and discuses to be used in both practice and competition.

Currently, we only have one discus that is usable for competition and not enough starting blocks for the number of runners on the team this year.

Once a discus becomes too worn, it is not eligible to be used at meets and in the past we've had to resort to borrowing equipment from other teams.

If this project is funded, both our runners and throwers will have enough equipment for the next few seasons. Thank you for your help!
