My Students

My athletic team is a dance company that we are just starting from scratch. We have a variety of junior high students from many cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic status'.

My school is an intercity school with the demographics being 70% Caucasian, 20% Hispanic and 10% other.

53% of students are eligible for free and reduced price lunch. There is a small population of refugee students that attend the school as well. The school is so supportive of all of its students and wants to provide them with opportunities that they may not receive otherwise. Most students haven't been exposed to much health education or dance movement so this is a chance for them to develop their knowledge in these areas.

My Project

This is our school's first year with a dance company, so we have no supplies at all and very limited funding. The dance company will be acting as our schools "spirit team" to help create and build school spirit. With this we are in need of items to help do that.

The dancers will be performing and will need a skirt as a costume to wear.

The bins will be used as a place for the dancers to keep there things since they don't have lockers.

These few things would help to start building our program for the coming years.
