Help me give my students the resources to enhance their work ethic and ability to find new ways to be creative in school. I would love for my students to be successful and find confidence in something!
The students in my classroom consist of a wide range of different ethnicity, personality types, income, and so much more. It has been amazing so far to see all of my students working together and getting to know different people while we complete many group and hands-on activities.
Each child brings such a unique perspective on life.
They come from different backgrounds and have experienced very different things. Our class discussions become very eye-opening as we see how differently various students live on a daily basis.
The students attend an inner-city school, and I love how this class has been able to provide them with skills that will truly help them on a daily basis. Hearing many students come to class explaining how they help their parents out by cooking dinner, or doing the laundry provides such a great feeling as a teacher. I can see what they are being taught is directly impacting their daily lives.
My Project
Since I am teaching a life skills course, I have the ability to open up their creativity to produce meaningful, exciting projects.
During various cooking and sewing labs, there are opportunities for the students waiting to be able to complete alternative activities to enhance their skills in various areas.
Please help me to provide these students with multiple ways to outlet their creativity. Since many of the students are in middle school, they are desperately trying to figure out who they are and what they are good at. These items will help provide the tools to do that for them.
