My Students

My students are energetic, fun-loving, eager second graders who look forward to coming to school every day. My students face many challenges such as disabilities, lack of supplies, and language barriers because their native language is not English, but despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.

Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way that I can.

I try to create an engaging and peaceful work environment so their minds can soar! By making sure they have what they need to be academically successful, safe, healthy, and secure, I am helping them to be as productive as possible.

My students live in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood and they have struggles at home. It is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish to in school. One of my goals, as a teacher, is to provide things that my children are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. My students love to experience new things and visit new places, such as the many field trips that I take them on. I also try to keep their bellies full and their minds open to learning new things.

My Project

In my school we have a lot of old furniture that we use throughout the years. In this project, I am asking for new plastic chairs to replace the old, dirty, and broken ones that I currently have.

Some of the chairs in my class are cracked and many have broken bottoms to the legs.

The problem with the broken bottoms to the legs is that they make the chairs wobble, scratch the floor, and are usually sharp. I am asking for new chairs to replace these chairs that I can use for the many years to come in my classroom.

I have gotten many great resources for my classroom over the years and now feel that it is time to upgrade the student chairs at their desks.
