Students have many different interests and needs, and in my classes, this is the always the case. Each student brings a unique perspective to the classroom environment and adds their own way of looking at the world. Students work to engage in the material taught as they relate it to their own lives and experiences.
The diverse classroom creates a safe place for all students to learn from one another and appreciate all cultures and perspectives.
A goal of our campus is student unity as they grow and thrive. Within the classroom, students are recognized for their differences and individual perspectives. Through literature, each student identifies with a character that changes their perspective and connects them to the world. Students are the future of our community, and teaching them about literature by connecting it to their lives makes my life, and theirs, rewarding.
My Project
My students love having one-to-one Chromebooks to work in a paperless classroom. The problem with this comes in maintaining each device. Recently there have been a few computers that do not charge any longer, or the screens have broken. Because of this, I am putting up my own money as a teacher to repair each device when problems occur.
Having two additional Chromebook would benefit students by allowing access in and out of the classroom.
Not only are repairs costly, but many students do not have their own devices at home. By having additional Chromebooks, I would be able to check out these devices to students who do not have access at home.
My goal for students is to make sure all students are supported in their learning in and out of the classroom, and these Chromebooks would help students be successful.
