My students need chairs for music class. We currently have 25 students in our high school band, and exactly 25 old, broken down chairs for them to use.
This project expired on June 15, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
The students in my class room are about as enthusiastic about music as they are about each other. With a K-12 population of about 330 students, the word "family" is consistently used to describe the atmosphere at school.
The band students are probably the most involved students at my school.
Many of them participate in athletics, quiz bowl, NHS and many other extracurricular activities. Most of these students also play in the Pep Band on top of playing basketball and cheer-leading. They don't let their commitments get in the way of their performance though. Everything they do is done with smiles on their faces and 110%.
I am requesting new chairs for our school's music/band room. We currently have an average of 25 students per grade and we have exactly that many chairs in our class room. The chairs that we do have are very old (many of which are on the verge of collapsing). Some are held together with additional nuts and bolts that have cracked the plastic on the chair itself, making them prone to break while being sat in.
The chairs that I am requesting are perfect for improving posture and performance techniques for all music class students.
They are designed for middle school and high school band, but will serve as good practice for other elementary students as they begin their journey as instrumental musicians.
