As a developmental preschool, we serve the majority of students with special needs as well as a few typically developing students. We provide two half day sessions (AM/PM) and allow 10 students who have IEP's (Indivdualized Education Program) plus two peer models per session. Our goal is to serve the whole student and provide the necessary modifications and accommodations if needed. We focus on teaching students the proper social skills, speech and language, kindergarten readiness, and adaptive skills that are necessary in their development. Our children love to learn and grow with each other, which is why classroom necessities are important! We love and appreciate every and any donation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
With gratitude, from my students and myself!
My Project
After discovering our current carpet in our storage, we are looking to replace it with a brand new one to support our students during circle time! By having a new carpet, our students will be able to participate in our daily routine including the question of the week, "Who's here?," calendar, letter of the week, and mindfulness activities. Our second item is a television, that will be used specifically for indoor gross motor and brain breaks. Our students love GoNoodle which provides fun, active videos that allow them to move their bodies and get their wiggles out! Currently, we've been using an iPad but we would love to have a bigger screen to allow for better viewing.
These two items will provide access to different areas of learning.
In addition, it will support students and their IEP (Individual Education Program) goals. We appreciate any support for our classroom!
