My Students

I have the opportunity to teach photography to high school students with disabilities. I'm amazed how learning photography increases my students self-confidence. For students that struggle in most of their core academic courses, it is so rewarding for them to have an outlet that they can find success and fulfillment in. I love seeing the joy that comes to each of them as they are able to produce amazing pictures and learn skills that help them in school and outside of the classroom.

My Project

We currently have three cameras in my classroom. I have 3 students to a camera currently which allows at most 9 students in the class. By adding another camera to my classroom it would give more students the opportunity to take this course. It could also allow me to have 2 students sharing a camera so that each student had more hands on time with the camera. After teaching this course for three years now their is definitely a demand for and I would love to be able to offer it to as many students as possible. Thank you for your support!
