Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is in the central valley of California and is in a low income/high poverty area. My students have the need to create art in a digital manner. They come from an area without much digital commerce and are striving to gain the skills and capabilities to join the digital world of employment through photography, graphic design, and graphic artistry. Our school is trying to give these students the opportunity for technical skill acquisition and portfolio building to join the workforce after graduation or to continue to higher education with some groundwork already in place.
My students are devoted and excited to take on new projects and design for their families, our local businesses, school clubs, activities, and sports.
My Project
Some of our camera bags have been lost or damaged from over 100 students using the same equipment. The Amazon DLSR Camera bags will allow students protected travel and they won't have to worry about damaging the cameras.
By refreshing our equipment we will continue to keep our DSLR's safe and allow students to check out equipment for off campus photoshoots.
While trying to save money, purchasing low quality tripods have resulted in a lot of broken pieces. New Amazon tripods will provide a study support for those long exposures or portrait set ups. These opportunities will allow students to explore their creativity off campus.
