My Students

My students are an eager group of learners who have bravely tackled this difficult time head-on. After a couple of weeks of learning new routines and systems, the class is now hitting their stride. It has been awesome to see how many have quickly made the adjustment and are rising to meet the challenges of distance learning with maturity and responsibility.

My Project

During my staff meeting today it was announced that families will be allowed to come back to school to pick up supplies and materials that were left at school in March (when we closed schools on short notice). While I made sure my students left with plenty of books, I know the kids are in desperate need of new reading material. The students have access to online libraries, but these do not compare to the experience of a physical book and my students deserve better.

These books were picked out with my 31 students in mind and represent some of the latest releases.

Since libraries and bookstores are closed, most of my students don't even know about many of these titles.

My plan is to have these new books available for students to take home when they come in to pick up their supplies (and return the books they borrowed from the classroom library) at the end of May. It will be such a delight being able to send them home with a brand new book. I can't wait!
