My Students

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I work with preschool students through sixth grade. There are a variety of disabilities and disorders that are addressed in Speech-Language Therapy in the school system. Many students in the school are working on improving their articulation, but I also help students with Autism and other developmental delays who may have expressive and receptive language deficits, voice disorders, fluency disorders, pragmatic disorders, and more.

My Project

This project will help to create a library of theme based books for my students. The benefit of using thematic instruction is that it helps children make connections between various concepts. It improves vocabulary and understanding of semantic relationships. Having the knowledge of various themes and categories, children can better make inferences and predictions about situations they encounter on a daily basis.

With the help of the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I will be creating theme units to go along with the books.

These will include various language and literacy skills that are so important to young learners.
