My students need books in the classroom that show diverse cultures and areas that help promote discussion of any book.

My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and very curious! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are truly remarkable and I learn so much from them day in and day out.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly remarkable and I learn so much from them day in and day out.
My Project
The books listed will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I aim to create for my students. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. Every week they get to experience all the different types of genres that are presented to them. Since these books all have a common theme, I plan to display them in a different way; on ledges/floating shelves that I have in my classroom. My students are so thankful for all the books that they have exposure to and they treat each book with love and care. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. My students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will expose them to different cultures, and characters that have persevered.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading and provide them with new experiences.
The flexible seating component allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. The stools, table, and Convert-A-Bench will be fun, engaging additions to our classroom. These flexible seating options will give the students real-life exposure to discussing books; very similar to a coffee shop vibe During independent work/independent reading, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating and engaging them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. The engagement is unmatched.
