Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from MA. We are a special education, hands-on, preschool classroom. Each of my students has an autism diagnosis. In my classroom, we work on various skills such as activities of daily living, routines, ABA, and social skills.

We have a variety of levels in our classroom, ranging from severe autism to mild.

We also have many students who are non-verbal, as well as having physical disabilities.

Our students who are non-verbal utilize communication devices to be able to use their voices when requesting their wants and needs.

My Project

Our classroom library needs some new books. Our students are very interested in books, and many are just starting book handling skills.

To keep their interest in reading, we would like to upgrade our classroom library to give them new books to look at.

Each day, we will do a read aloud of a new book, and add it to our classroom library. I know this will excite our students so much. Early ready skills will help them to be successful as they move on in their academic careers. We would love to increase their love for reading!
