Help me give my students new books for our classroom library. Second graders are learning to read and enjoy reading. It's a ton of fun to give them new literature to enjoy.
I have an amazing class of twenty-eight, very diverse, second-grade students. They are all sweet and smart and I love working with them everyday. I have English language learners as well as English only learners. They have very diverse backgrounds, talents and challenges. I learn something new from each of them every single day. They love books! I have been teaching for over ten years with the same set of books, and I'm finding that tape just isn't keeping them together anymore.
My little ones love books!
I need more books for my classroom library. I need high-interest titles to excite these little learners. One of my students has asked to borrow books to take home to read because he doesn't have books at home. I'm happy to loan my books out, but sometimes, things happen at home and they don't come back or they don't come back the way they left. To have some new books to replace the old ones and to have more popular titles would really be great! I can't wait to see them open a box of new books!
My Project
Many of my students come into second grade either not reading yet, or just beginning to read. I have the pleasure and privilege to help these little ones become better readers. Once they start reading, they need a lot of literature in their little hands. Help me put these amazing books into their hands. It's so fun to see them reading! When they find a story they love, they can't stop reading!!
