Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach fouth grade in an urban school district. The school services students pre-k to eighth grade. Our school is a community school. It provides health, dental, and after school services.
My students are diverse and come from different ethnic, religious, and social economical backgrounds.
My students are eager to learn and come in with a smile on their face every day. My students are always willing to lend a hand to each other and share their learning with classmates, family members, and school staff.
My Project
These materials will help my students by adding new books in our classroom library. I moved to the fourth grade this year from a second grade classroom. My students need new books at their current reading levels. The books currently in our classroom are to easy for my students currently.
New books added to our library will allow my students to improve their reading and work on their reading comprehension.
My students enjoy reading and have great imaginations. I have the library as one center during our guided reading times. My students really love going to the library to practice the skills that we have been learning in class. These new books will greatly add to our classroom.
