My students need high quality books to read independently at their level and for me to read aloud to them, as well as some stools and wobble cushions for students to read and complete classwork in!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school in Indiana, where 47% of our students are ELL and almost 90% are free or reduced lunch.
Despite their many challenges, my students want to do well and succeed at school.
They come to school eager to learn. They work hard and overcome many obstacles to achieve academically.
This school year, I am moving from a fifth grade classroom to a third grade classroom. I am excited for the change, but in need of some things for my new third graders!
My Project
Students need engaging and authentic texts in order to improve their reading abilities and develop a love for reading! I plan to use some of these books for read alouds and instruction. The rest of the books will be added to our classroom library for independent reading.
I want to create an inviting atmosphere where students are not always confined to their desk and chair!
I believe that when students feel comfortable at school, they work harder. The new stools will be used for alternative seating and the wobble cushions can be used for either floor seating or be placed in chairs to allow students to get "wiggles" out while working!
