My second grade students attend a public school in New Hampshire. They come to school each day ready for new challenges!
These seven and eight year old students are excited about learning and eager to do their best!
My class includes children of all abilities and backgrounds. Over the past few years, students and their families are coming from more and more countries including India, China, Russia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. My students are kind, caring, energetic and creative. My class enjoys learning in an active and hands-on way.
My Project
Having new books to read energizes students and makes them want to read the new titles in the classroom library! After I read the books aloud, students are eager to be the next person to keep the book in their desk to read on their own. Students will use the phonics phone as a "whisper phone". As they read quietly into the phone, they hear their own voice but are not too loud for children around them. The dry erase pockets enable children to write using dry erase markers - which always makes working more fun!
Second graders are continuing to build and develop their literacy skills.
