I teach a large variety of students from an urban area in Virginia.
My students are typical urban, city school children, representing a range of ages, in ninth to twelfth grade, and include standard, highly motivated or gifted and special education students.
In addition, they are mostly minority (African-American), underprivileged and at-risk students. Many have specific learning disabilities and require varied and specialized instruction. They are very hard workers.
My students are often tech savvy, but do not have access to a lot of technology.
We have a mobile laptop lab that we share in our department. It is very convenient and the laptops are pretty good, however starting to age. Several of the laptops no longer work because the batteries are bad. If we can replace the batteries, then those laptops will be come useful again.
We need new batteries for some of the laptops in our mobile lab.
These computers are several years old and the batteries are starting to fail. Since it is a mobile lab, we actually sue it for a variety of courses and it is always being used. Having all of the laptops functionable is very important.
