This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the Varsity Basketball Coach at our school on the southwest side of Chicago. Our students come from low-income family homes and do not have the money to buy equipment and the right clothing for basketball. The kids really love the game of basketball and they are in the gym and weight-room everyday to prove it. Making sure they are well equipped for battle everyday is the main reason I am asking for donations for our team.

My Project

Athletics in high school allows students the opportunities to participate in something bigger than themselves but also allows them to be part of a community that in Chicago can be hard to find.

Our boys work their butts off everyday to get better but without the right equipment it can be difficult to be the best they can be and keep up with the competition.

We will be sure to put these balls to good use as adding these 10 new balls will give every player on the team a ball that they can use during practice to improve their skills.
