Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students in my classroom come from low socioeconomic status and various cultural backgrounds. Most students speak two languages. They practice a growth mindset when challenges arise and see mistakes as a learning opportunity.
My students love learning, they work collaboratively and are ready to explore their imagination and creative thinking skills with challenging STEM activities, research projects, technology, science and math concepts.
They strive to do their best everyday in all academic subjects despite the hardships they may face every day.
Overall, my students come to school ready to learn. They truly inspire me everyday and my goal is to try to give them a successful year filled with meaningful learning.
My Project
I had the opportunity to implement a few flexible seating options in my classroom this year and the amazing, positive response I received from my students was great, academically and behaviorally. Adding the Gaiam Classic Backless Balance Ball Chair, Kore Wobble Chairs, and Fidget Chair Bands for Kids to our flexible seating options will provide more comfortable seating options that will allow my students to be engaged and focused throughout the day. They will be motivated to come to school every day and chose a seat that will allow them to do their best work. It will create an environment in which they want to come to.
