This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have 19 highly energetic first graders in my classroom this year! Most of my students come from low income families, and receive free and reduced lunch. Despite these challenging circumstances, they walk into my classroom every morning with a smile on their face eager to learn.

My students love listening to books!

They get so excited when they are able to use technology in the classroom because the possibilities while using technology are endless. During our reading block, my students rotate through stations and one of their favorite stations is the listening station. Unfortunately, our CD player is very old and no longer works. We are in need of a new CD player to listen to our audio books.

My Project

We are in need of a new CD player for our listening center. My class would be so appreciative getting a new listening center for our classroom. Each day, we break up into groups and do centers. Due to our old broken equipment, we have not been able to enjoy our listening center where students are able to listen and follow along to books.

This is my students favorite center to go to during the day.

They really love being read to and this allows me to be working with other students while 6-8 students can listen to a story.
