Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is full of smart, vibrant, and beautiful young ladies. As soon as they enter the door, they are eager to learn and teach their peers throughout the day. They are the prime example of the word sisterhood. They always support one another emotionally, socially, and academically. They enjoy reading nonfiction and fiction stories and solving math problems. They especially enjoy dancing and singing.
Since this will be my first year teaching in an inner city public school as a lead teacher, I want to create a fun, loving, and supportive environment for my girls.
Even though they may face hardships and cope with different circumstances outside of my classroom, they will remain resilient and determined to grow as life-long learners.
My Project
My students need two new classroom rugs and comfy reading pillows. During reading, my students love to find comfy places to read as well as have a comfy place to calm down when having strong feelings.
I would like the classroom rug for my students so that my room will have a warm, comfortable learning environment.
I think that it is very important for students to be comfortable learning where they feel welcomed and safe. These rugs will do the trick!
My students deserve a warm and comfortable school environment. They would enjoy reading independently or with a partner on a new comfortable rug. They would also use this rug when they have strong feelings and would like a place to calm down.
