This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are independent, joyous and full of energy scholars that come from various economic and social backgrounds. Our elementary school serves grades K-5 in a College and Career Readiness cluster in our inner city district.
Even though some come more ready than others to perform, our welcoming school community ensures success for all; together, we are growing an amazing group of learners.
It is a joy to see them interact with one another using empathy and kindness and grow their skills for success now and in the future.
My Project
My students are extremely tactile and learn more when given the opportunity to touch. I want to introduce the concept of classroom money and finances.
It is never too early to start learning about financial literacy; the classroom store will provide many opportunities for my young and fertile minds to grasp the concept of finances.
The iPad will serve to play games and activities that allow the students to manipulate money.
Whether they are counting their earning or paying the teacher or a classmate for a service, they are growing and becoming more financially savvy.
