Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a charter school and most of my students travel some distance to come to this school to attend a better school than they are zoned to.
My students enter the classroom every day with excitement, enthusiasm and wonder; every day in pre-k is magical.
They are filled with so much desire to learn and have fun. We work hard and play hard!
Essentially all of my students are ESL (English as a second language) and most are from low socio-economic backgrounds.
My Project
S.T.E.M: Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
These STEM manipulatives will make a world of difference in the frequency in which my class does S.T.E.M activities.
Our classroom is lacking in materials for S.T.E.M. I feel like S.T.E.M is a fantastic way to teach/integrate several different subjects at the same time. These manipulatives/materials/activities will be very engaging to my students.
The Insta-snow will be a fantastic learning tool when we go over our unit on Weather. It will be engaging and super fun for students in my sensory bin!
The book "The Wind Blew " will also be a great addition to our weather unit which could use a little "oomph".
The puppet theater will be a great pretend/play and story retelling tool!
The stickers would be a fantastic addition to our classroom writing center.
Glitter and chenille stems will be a fantastic addition to our art center.
