Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is in a high poverty area of Chicago. Some of my students are diverse learners. Most of my students are first generation Americans. They are hard working, well mannered, and polite students who come from awesome families. Their parents push them to get the education that they never had. Their attendance is excellent as they come to school everyday trying their best, hoping for a better future.

The students in my classes build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

They strive to excel in reading and writing, overcoming obstacles that are surrounding them everyday.

My Project

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful reading and writing classes.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create.
