Neurographic Self Portraits

My Project

My students are very well traveled, but often do not have deep roots in any place. I strive to help them make connections and form deeper meaningful relationships with both people and learning. The materials for this project are focused on ink-based mediums (alcohol markers, sharpies, and colored fine-line pens).

Students will explore neurodivergent art while creating a self-portrait.

Neurodivergent art has been found to help individuals feel a sense of calm and deep concentration.

Students will use a high interest material (artist grade markers) to create a self-portrait in a very specific artistic style. They will explore color layering, learn how to transfer an image, and understand how to present a finished product.
