My Students

Our class needs an up to date netbook computer. The student PC that we have is old and slow. It was purchased in 2002. It is 11 years old, older than any of my students. It cannot run many websites or learning software.

To be successful 21 century learners, my students need access to current technology.

Can you imagine a successful corporation using obsolete technology? Replacing our outdated PC with a wireless netbook will allow my students access to learning resources that our old computer simply cannot handle. 40% of my students are economically disadvantaged. I want to expose them to current web based learning tools that they do not have at home. A netbook would allow them to use ebooks, instructional activities, and a wealth of other resources.

My Project

A new netbook can do so much more than our outdated PC. There are many learning websites available to our school that we simply cannot access with our current PC. With a net book computer we can wirelessly access Brainpop, Xtramath.org, Cool Math, Kid's College, Tumblebooks and so much more.

This project will make a difference in my classroom this year and in the years to come.

Technology will continue to change, and my students need to be exposed to it now to have a good foundation in 21 century learning.
