My Students

My project will allow opportunities for 260 children to feel special while reading in a cozy spot. The students in my school live in a rural area and depend on my library for most of their recreational reading needs. They range in age from preschoolers to 5th grade and have diverse in ability levels including gifted and talented as well as some with special needs.

My students want to be successful readers.

They are always excited but need new space to read!

My Project

My students, better known as "Wren Readers" after our school mascot, need an inviting space to encourage recreational reading. The current wooden tables and chairs in the library are not comfortable places to sit. Flexible seating would help move readers away from fixed furniture and allow the children to utilize unused space in the library and create their own private reading nests.

My children would be thrilled with bean bags!

If funded, this project will provide 6 bean bags that will move the focus away from a traditional reading area and allow for a more personal, reading environment. Reading activities will soar!
