Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am in a new art room this year, in an urban, Title I district. My students experience homelessness, low socioeconomic status, and foster care. A majority of my students are enrolled in the English Language Learner program and struggle daily with communicating with their classmates and teachers. Many of my students, who are impacted by being homeless or are extremely poor, often come to school without basic supplies, experience hunger, and find it difficult to pay attention in class. My students are eager to learn and grow in the art room and especially to paint; however, our lack of resources limits us.
My supply order is limited due to budget restrictions.
My Project
Imagine the ooh's and ahh's from students creating with art supplies that glow. Every mark they make jumps off the paper and dances with a neon light before their eyes. You can make this possible by contributing to this project.
I want to create a black light room full of neon artwork that will glow.
My students will use neon oil pastels and neon paints to create artwork under a black light. It will all be displayed together for the community to enjoy at the annual art show. I can already tell that this will be a huge hit. Please make this possible for my community!
