My Students

Our middle school is located in Louisville, KY. We are a premier middle school working to empower students to be life long learners. My students do not have much when it comes to material items but they have a lot of passion and love making music. They try hard at everything they do and focus their time to be the best person they can be. Being their teacher is a pleasure every day. Music is something that helps them escape from what they go through in their lives and seeing them grow from that makes my job not seem like a job.

My Project

Shoulder rests are an essential part of being a violin or viola player. Our program has started an "Intro to Orchestra" class which is a 12 weeks rotation; where at the end of the 12 weeks, students can join that year long performance class. Due to having this class, our student enrollment has grown at a fast rate.

We are needing supplies to meet the needs of our new 6th grade students discovering their passion for music.

I want to set my students up with a strong foundation in their music ability but that can only come from having comfort while holding the instrument.
