My Students
My students are from an urban community where they face many challenges. Crime, poverty, drug abuse, domestic abuse are some of the experiences many of them face daily. The community and schools however, have been there to support them and nurture their academic and social growth.
My goal is always to give each of them a safe space for learning; a place where they are comfortable being themselves, a place where they can focus on becoming the best version of themselves.
My Project
The impact of COVID-19 has been felt across so many classrooms and households. These "Needful Things" you are donating to will assist young learners as they learn in hybrid formats, where school will take place at home, as well as in a classroom. The addition of reading material gives students options inside their classroom that feature individuals with backgrounds similar to theirs. The masks and sanitizer will be a part of a safety care package to kick off the school year.
Providing each student with personal necessities for hybrid learning while also keeping in mind their individual safety was the thought process behind the list of items you are donating to.
