Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 5th grade bilingual teacher. I will be teaching a class full of amazing minds and awesome diverse personalities. These students are eager to become great professionals, life-long readers, lovers of literature, creative thinkers, and effective writers.
Creative, funny, hard-workers and big dreamers.
They love to explore, ask, wonder and share their ideas.
These kids have shown their love for reading, but they haven't had really a chance to start working with novel study activities and I would really love to get support from all of you!
My Project
Reading comprehension is so imperative to a student's success in school and in their future.
The novels that I have requested will allow my students worthy reading opportunities.
The novels ( The Dreamer by Pam Munoz and Number the Stars) will let them understand better the fact of never giving up in themselves, in their dreams and believes, no matter the different contexts and problems they have to face.
It will also help instill a love of reading for my students. It helps for each student to have their own copy so they can take it home and read and complete novel study activities!
