My students need access to quality non-fiction information for their busy brains! Time for Kids is a reliable source for interesting science and social studies content that is very appropriate for kids.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are extremely enthusiastic first through fifth grade gifted and talented students. These kids have so much potential to be great leaders. Reading and art are favorite activities amongst my students and our classroom library is a place where many students delve in to flesh-out and explore new ideas. They love to express what they have read through creative endeavors.
My students are creative, critical thinkers that are filled with boundless energy and curiosity.
They have an innate desire to learn by reading and to truly push the envelope in terms of what is possible.
My Project
Time for Kids magazine is a tried-and-true periodical that students LOVE to read. It includes interesting information about animals, people, culture, and so much more that students enjoy thoroughly.
Having access to relevant, non-fiction articles about a range of different topics is precisely what my students crave!
You wouldn't believe the conversations that come up in classroom discussion when reading about real current events.
Sometimes reading about a topic that might not come up in the regular classroom curriculum is just the thing students need to be ignited with new knowledge that will prompt them to continue to ask more questions...
