My students need snacks that they can grab and go, such as chips, cookies and granola bars.

My Students
My students have the potential to be absolutely amazing! They may lack in financial areas, but they have an abundance of creativity and imagination. My school is Title I, and most of the students come from low-income families. The school is student-centered with limited resources. However, the teachers and staff are dedicated to providing not only education, but also love, kindness, and attention to individual needs.
At our charter school, we cater to K-8.
I teach 6th-grade science. My students do not always have access to the basics, let alone the latest technology. They come from diverse backgrounds and need an engaging and safe environment to be their second home.
A typical day consists of too much talking and not enough hands-on experience. I want my students to be well prepared for the next grade level. My biggest challenge is funding activities.

My Project
Research indicates that hungry students are at a disadvantage. Help me help our students experience success during testing season and throughout the year. It is testing season, and we need our students to be as prepared as possible. A lot of our students cannot afford extra snacks or food. Some come in without eating breakfast and others tend to get hungry throughout the day. Having a quick and easy snack, such as cookies, chips or granola bars to grab will give them the fuel they need to succeed. My students have so many struggles that they face daily. I do not want food to be one of them.
