My Students
The STEAM Club at our middle school provides our students with once in a lifetime opportunities to expand their minds in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Our middle school is an urban school located in Fl. We have a student population that is 80% free and reduced price lunch and are a Title I school. Our mission as teachers is to give our students every opportunity to reach for the stars through collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
My Project
This clay and glaze will allow our students to create models of the solar system. This will be a continuation project after completing our planetarium. For most of our student's this will be their only opportunity to work with clay. By creating an accurate scale model of the solar system out of clay, our students will better understand the size and color of the planets in our galaxy. One of our goals in STEAM is to expand our students experience in the Arts. Please help our student to learn that math and engineering are useful when creating art in a fun and creative way.
