My Students
My students come from a low-income area and low socioeconomic backgrounds. One hundred percent qualify for free breakfast and lunch. We lack many everyday school supplies, and many of the parents cannot afford to buy their children pencils, folders, and other essential supplies for school.
Many of my students come from low-income households.
Eighty-five percent of the students are English Language Learners, so many do not receive much help at home due to language. The teachers at our school are mentors to the children. We want all our students to succeed. The school provides a caring and warm environment to learn.
My Project
Composition notebooks will be used for students interactive math journal. They will cut and paste math standards to review and play math games in their own interactive notebook. Hands on math will be a visual learning for students during math time. Using the notebooks will help them review math standards taught. Having hands-on math ten frames is beneficial for my visual learners. The storage containers will hold base ten blocks and coins. The number disks, dice, and place value caddy is needed for the new math program. Please help my students receive math manipulative to use during our math block.
