This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been blessed with a great groups of kids. They each have their own distinct personality, but share one thing in common. My students are all from low income households. They receive free breakfast and lunch and some started school with some or none of the supplies required.

All of my students are considered "At-Risk" of not graduating, I want to change that.

I want to provide them with the resources needed to maximize their learning, to catch them up to be on-level, and to create life-long learners.

My Project

My school is very technology driven. My class has a set of computers and iPads in our classroom. My students also go to computer classes where they learn keyboarding, coding and use a literacy program.

Headphones are needed almost daily and unfortunately its usually the first of their supplies to get broken.

Students need headphones to listen to the directions on their coding or keyboarding program. They need to listen to the vocabulary words read to them on their literacy program. Also, they are needed to listen to reading while they are working on listening comprehension.

When students don't have headphones they can't fully benefit from using these programs on computers or iPads.
